I’m Farrah Minnich, a certified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner and Wellness Coach. In addition to speaking engagements, I work privately and in groups with clients both in person and remotely, and truly love the job of helping people achieve optimal health by turning to food first!
I live in Wilton, CT with my two young sons and health and fitness are a way of life for us. Together we enjoy visiting the farmer’s market, cooking whole, organic food, playing and watching sports, and simply staying fit as a family!
I have always been an athlete and ate what I thought was a healthy diet, but I also spent many years battling an eating and body image disorder before I was married with children. Several years ago when I experienced some major unexpected life changes, those negative thoughts and feelings towards both food and myself resurfaced, and I knew I had to take back control immediately. I turned to food first before seeking any other therapy and healed my mind, body, and spirit with the power of proper nourishment. I regained strength, vitality, motivation and focus through the incredible healing powers of a whole foods, nutrient dense diet.
When I took control of my health, I also regained control of my life, and now enjoy each and every day, handle unavoidable stresses with ease, have the energy to keep up with my two (very active) boys, and live my life with meaning and purpose. My health journey was so profound that I felt compelled to share it with others by showing them how to find their own path to healing. I returned to school to become a certified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner and started Food First Nutritional Therapy to share my fresh approach to health and wellness!
I have a background in elementary education and previously taught Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grades in both New York City and Wilton, CT. I enjoy combining my prior teaching experience with my current NTP certification to work with young athletes on sports nutrition. In addition, I have a special interest in both gut and mental health, but work with clients in all aspects of health and wellness, including blood sugar regulation, hormone balance, digestive disorders, pain management, cardiovascular health, and weight management.
I graduated with a BA in Communication from University of Maryland, College Park, and attended Fordham University post-graduate for Elementary Education. More recently, I graduated from the Nutritional Therapy Association as a certified NTP.
